Hand painted portrail enamel on copper - The Anxious King - life in the time of corona.  I painted this enamel during the UK lockdown which was brought about by COVID-19. The title The Anxious King refers to the unknown, isolation, and anxiety which affected many people at this time.  It also became a time of reflection and concentration in the art-making process in my studio.
The enamel is mounted on a red velvet backing set inside a sterling silver vitrine case with a glass front and held in place with a silver scalloped petal bezel.
The back of the case is brass gilding metal which has my makers mark and the sterling silver side of the case is hallmarked at the Goldsmiths Assay Office in London.
It measures 69mm x 54mm wide x 12mm deep.
