Hand-painted enamel skeleton inspired by seeing the Torre Abbey Jewel in the V&A museum in London. The Torre Abbey piece is a gold and enamel memento mori jewel made between 1540 and 1550 and found in the grounds of Torre Abbey in Devon. I have handpainted a skeleton using glass enamels and fired in my kiln on a copper sarcophagus shaped base and hand set in a sterling silver mount with a faceted oval amethyst at the top and suspended on a sterling silver chain. The pendant measures 80mm high x 23mm at widest point x 7mm at deepest point and the chain measures 74cm from end to end.
