Sterling Silver scroll neckpiece mounted on black leather.

I'm really interested in ancient clasps, catches and fasteners from museums and metal

detector finds. I take a lot of inspiration from museum visits studying ancient jewellery and

clothing fasteners. So this is my version, which i have carved from wax and cast in sterling

silver. Resembling a snakes head and tail necklace often seen in Ancient Greek

and Roman jewellery. I have riveted the silver onto high grade round black

leather which gives a beautiful durable finish. I spent a lot of time perfecting this design so

it's a strong simple modern ergonomic form and its really very comfortable to wear. I used recycled silver when i made

these necklaces melting down broken silver items from the Georgian and victorian era. I like the idea that you can wear

silver that was mined hundreds of years ago remade into something new. These have been Hallmarked at the London

Goldsmiths assay office.

I have four remaining necklaces and the size is as follows.

The leather is 6mm dia The Silver scroll is 37.5 mm long x 17 mm wide

10mm deep the silver snake head form is 25mm long x 9mm wide x 10mm deep.
The necklaces are different lengths, 490mm, 495mm, 525mm and 530mm

these will be posted in their own gift box and all postage both national and international is tracked signed and insured. When purchasing please message me which length you would prefer.
